Microsoft has released the RTM of CRM 2013 and this is what you should know about the look and feel.
The first time you go to CRM 2013, you get a small wizard to show you how to use the new layout.
it isn’t much but it helps you to get started.
First of all the sitemap isn’t static on the left side of the screen anymore.
You only see the blue bar on the top of the screen. If you click the buttons in the bar, you navigate through the sitemap. If you select an entity there expands a bar with the most recent used record.
For the technical people there is no change to the ribbonxml which makes upgrading and developing for CRM 2013 the same as for CRM 2011.
The process driven ui is a for me a great feature.
This helps the user to collect data in a nice an easy process flow.
The user can switch between processes and can even search for all record in a specific process and in a specific step.
An example you are on a lead and there you can switch between the lead to account process and the the lead to contact process.
The process can be changed very easily without technical knowledge.
You can create new processes, steps or fields in the process.
Even fields of related entities can be in the steps.
A welcome new feature is the quick create.
This provides a small form with the most common fields of the entity, only limitations it has to primitive types. only text, numbers, …
